Pass the Salt

Pass the Salt please, it's good for you. Well I'm not 100% sure about that -- but I have a client who thinks so! So on my Friday easel I've got a salt shaker watercolor commission that's going to be used for a client's new business identity. 

I'm not sure what they're selling but I'm sure that it's salty. Which reminds me -- I use salt to create all kinds of textures in watercolor. I use regular salt, sea salt and even kosher salt. It works best with medium-wet paint and shows off well if you use it in a dark color. So be generous with your salt, sprinkle it around on your wet paint and have fun creating.
