I am like most artists in that I paint what catches my eye, and and for me this one day it was this wisteria. I was on a house walk of beautiful homes and gardens in Pasadena, California several years ago. I had my camera with me as I often do, and took a few shots while on the tour. I liked how the sun was shining through the vines as they curled up the tall columns of this home; the colors of the purple, lavender and bright spring greens took my breath away.  I took the photo and then worked up the painting when I returned home to my studio.
