Study of an Oak Tree

This is a watercolor study of an oak tree and is one of my personal favorites. It is a painting about contrasts - lights and darks, strength and weakness, large and small, sun and shade. It is a small painting with a big message -- 5x4 inches. I painted this from a photograph I took when I lived with my parents as a kid on the Cape.
