My view of Sandy Neck beach, Watercolor 11" x 14"
I used to go to this beach when I was growing up on the Cape. It was a quiet beach -- sort of out of the way. The Cape natives knew about it. It was a long beach with lots of sand dunes and beach grass. This is a beach on Cape Cod Bay so the water was really, really cold -- too cold to swim in. I used to love going there the day after Labor Day -- when it would be completely empty. I would walk along the beach collecting seashells and rocks. I would draw, take photos and sometime paint. Sort out all my teenage life problems and enjoy the sunshine. I always knew everything was going to work out for the best.
