I am such a huge fan of summer berries! If you are too this is our time of year, right? I like the fresh ones I've been getting at the local farmer's market. Strawberries, blue berries, raspberries and blackberries. Love them all!
When I was a kid growing up on a farm in the Berkshires -- my Mom would send me out with a basket early in the morning to gather fresh red raspberries and blackberries for our cereal. I would have to outwit the birds who were also up and very upset I was taking from their bushes. I thought this was such an important job. Ah to be a kid again -- I long for those lazy, hot summer days in the country gathering berries for breakfast!
